Reliance Defence eyes India’s ₹20,000-cr defence MRO mkt with new JV

On Monday, Reliance Defense Ltd, supported by Anil Ambani, the company’s eyes as the eyes of India, the US -centered defense contractor of the Coastal Mechanics A.Ş. (CMI) signed an agreement with La20,000 CRORE Defense Care, Repair, Revision (MRO) and upgrade market.
Reliance Defense is a 100% subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd.
According to the agreement, Reliance Defense and CMI will establish a joint venture (JV) unit to provide MRO, upgrade and modernization services for air and land defense platforms used by Indian Armed Forces in Michan, Maharashtra.
JV, 100 Jaguar, 100 MIG-29 fighter aircraft, 20 Apache attack helicopters and L-70 will try to modernize and raise the air defense gun.
The Reliance defense aims to be one of India’s first three defense exporters. “The segment represents a high -valuable, long -term opportunity directed by a strategic shift to the Indian army from the exchange of assets of the Indian army to life cycle extension and performance -based logistics,” he said.
Market analyst Ajay Bagga said that increasing geopolitical risks will increase globally defense expenditures and create export opportunities for India’s defense manufacturers and service providers.
“There is an increase in defense expenditures in the light of increasing geopolitical risks from Asia to Europe.
“While the armed forces are trying to build inventory and wear gaps in weapons and systemic capacities in the light of Sindoor operation, we expect the Indian defense sector to see accelerated expenditures. We expect multi -year increases in Indian defense expenditures.”
Vinit Bolinjkar, Head of Stock Research in Ventura Securities, sees the announcement of JV as a positive step. Bolinjkar said, “India is an attractive market for the cost of cost and therefore MRO. Given the association with the coastal mechanics, an authorized contractor, it will ensure that the world’s largest defense organization, the US Department of Defense, will ensure its defense of relying on resource business,” he said.
Great General KK Sinha, Kargil War Veteran and Defense Specialist, Mint He is sure of India’s defense production capabilities. “Self -confidence is important, but we need to have modernized equipment to fit the generation splash. India needs to emerge in the global defense manufacturing industry,” he said.
He also said that NATO can achieve the needs of NATO nations as the defense budget targets of India’s export market are reset.
In MY25, India’s defense production reached the highest level of all time and an increase of 15% La1.46 trillion. Defense exports of the country also broke a record La24,000 crore.
