Operation AI? US military buildup around Iran raises global tensions amid Houthi threats | World News

Tensions in the Middle East rose sharply following reports that US President Donald Trump was preparing what was described as “Operation Artificial Intelligence”, allegedly targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Advanced artificial intelligence tools, including Anthropic AI, are associated with US strategic military planning, according to American media reports cited in the publication. The developments took place at a time when military mobilization was increasing in the region.

In today’s episode of DNA, Zee News Editor-in-Chief Rahul Sinha gave a detailed analysis of these claims, examining the reported use of AI in modern warfare and its alleged connection with past US operations. In the program, media reports claiming that artificial intelligence tools were previously used in operations involving former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro were discussed. According to these reports, AI-powered satellite image analysis and target identification were used to examine sensitive locations in Caracas and assess vulnerabilities.

The publication also linked these allegations to Trump’s earlier statements in which he said he had detailed information about Iran’s Supreme Leader.

The analysis suggested that AI-powered intelligence systems could play a role in collecting and evaluating strategic information. Also emphasized were the news that the US special forces unit Delta Force, which was allegedly involved in the Maduro operation, was reactivated and was preparing for a possible two-week military operation. International news agencies reported that US forces identified targets including nuclear facilities and military bases in Iran.

Military deployments in the region have intensified. With the USS Abraham Lincoln strike group already positioned near Iran, USS Gerald R. Ford was instructed to proceed and join it. The two carrier strike groups reportedly consist of a total of approximately 12,000 personnel, approximately 180 fighter jets and attack helicopters, and approximately 1,500 missile capabilities. This type of force concentration is typically associated with high alert or wartime scenarios.

Trump recently visited Fort Bragg, one of the largest military bases in the USA, and gave a strong message to Iran. The move is seen as part of broader military readiness as well as ongoing diplomatic engagements.

Meanwhile, the Iranian-backed Houthi group Ansarullah also issued warnings, declared its loyalty to Iran’s leadership and threatened to disrupt Red Sea shipping if Iran was attacked. In previous incidents, the Houthis’ actions targeting ships in the Red Sea had led to significant economic consequences. It was reported that Egypt faced losses of $9 billion, ship traffic in the Israeli port of Eilat decreased by 85 percent, and rerouted ships incurred additional costs of approximately $1 million per trip.

The combination of a U.S. military buildup and proxy threats from Iran-linked groups has raised concerns about potential supply chain disruptions and renewed economic instability if the situation escalates into open conflict.
