Teenagers forced to dig their own graves in forest during kidnapping | World | News

Two teenagers were allegedly kidnapped, stabbed and forced to dig their own graves in the woods in a horrific incident that police believe may be linked to drug-related disputes. The victims, aged 14 and 16, were taken by several masked men from a hotel car park in Carquefou, a suburb just outside Nantes, on Friday night (January 2). Eyewitnesses said they saw young people being put into a car.
Police arrived quickly but found no sign of the teens or the vehicle. A resident of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, about ten kilometers from Carquefou, found the two children on his doorstep at around 3am. Both were visibly injured, with their faces covered in blood, fingers cut off, and showing signs of serious shock. One of the young people was injured in the hip with a knife. Citizens immediately reported the situation to the authorities and provided first aid.
The victims were later transported to Nantes University Hospital for medical attention. According to statements given to investigators, the teenagers were taken to a nearby forest, locked in the trunk of a car and subjected to brutal physical abuse.
The attackers stripped them naked, attacked them and threatened them with death. It was reported that they had guns held to their heads and were forced to dig a hole that could be used as a grave with their bare hands.
Police later found the location described by the victims and discovered the teenagers’ discarded clothes and the dug hole.
Nantes prosecutor Antoine Leroy confirmed that the investigation into kidnappings, false arrests and acts of violence is ongoing.
Detectives from the local criminal investigation department suspect that the attack may be linked to a showdown in the drug trade, possibly resulting from territorial disputes between dealers.
The teenager, originally from Angers, reportedly escaped from authorities several months before he was kidnapped. Both victims gave statements to the police but were told they did not want to discuss the incident in detail.
The investigation is currently being supervised by gendarmes from the Nantes investigative brigade. Prosecutor Antoine Leroy said progress had been made in identifying those responsible for the violent kidnapping, but no arrests had been announced at this stage.
