AI171 Crash Victim’s Father Demands Deeper Probe

On Friday, AAIB took his preliminary report into the accident. It described a critical situation that developed only 90 seconds after the departure, when both engines were closed unexpectedly. This led to a rapid decrease in pusing loss and high altitude.
The flight data from the Developed Air Flight Recorder (EAFR) of the aircraft showed that fuel cutting switches for both engines were cut off in one second without accidental running shortly after taking off. One pilot to the other “Why did you cut it?” The answer came, “I didn’t.”
Sudden closure caused the Ram Air Turbine to be deployed, but the plane immediately began to lose height and could not stay in the air without engine power.
According to AAIB, the pilots tried to restart both engines by reopening the fuel systems. As the engine started to recover, the engine 2 did not stabilize.
