The Baltimore Ravens are heading into a shocking 1-5 bye week after losing their fourth straight game, but reinforcements are on the way.
Lamar Jackson, who missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, is expected to return in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears, head coach John Harbaugh told members of the media after Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
“We will make sure our healthy players return,” Harbaugh said, according to the team’s official website. “Our quarterback will be back.”

Harbaugh was asked if he “absolutely” knew Jackson would return.
“So it’s certain? I say so, but I don’t know,” he replied. “Life is like that sometimes. You can’t predict everything. That’s still to come, but that’s hope.”

The Ravens felt Jackson’s loss the last two games as their offense allowed just 13 points in that span.
Cooper Rush, Jackson’s backup quarterback to start the season, has been Harbaugh’s starter in his last two losses and has struggled to get things going. As the offense was ramping up against the Rams on Sunday, Harbaugh made the call to go to Tyler “Snoop” Huntley, but that didn’t change much either.

Rush had a 72-yard field goal with one interception, while Huntley rushed for 39 yards on 10-of-15 passing for 68 yards.
Jackson, a two-time MVP, will need to get the Ravens’ offense back on track if he wants to get back to the playoffs. It’s an uphill battle considering the record, but the Ravens know they have a “generational player” leading them.
“You can’t put anyone in his place,” Justice Hill ran over. “Obviously getting him back is going to be a huge leap forward for our offense.”
