12 Dead, 12 Injured as Speeding Dumper Hits Vehicles in Jaipur

Jaipur: At least 12 people were killed and scores injured when a speeding dump truck crashed into several vehicles in Jaipur’s Harmada area on Monday afternoon, officials said. “The dump truck crashed into several vehicles in a chain collision near Loha Mandi. 12 people died and many others were injured in the accident,” officials said.

It was stated that some of the injured were in critical condition and were transferred to SMS Hospital trauma center. The dumper was empty and as it was heading towards the Loha Mandi petrol pump from Road No. 14, it started hitting vehicles one after another in an area of about 300 metres.

Police teams arrived at the scene and started working to direct traffic and remove damaged vehicles from the highway. The injured were taken to surrounding hospitals by ambulance. This is the second major road accident to occur in Rajasthan in as many days. At least 15 people, including 10 women and 4 children, died and two others were injured when a tempo passenger crashed into a stationary trailer truck in Phalodi area on Sunday evening.
