Storm Bram LIVE: ‘Danger to life’ as thousands of homes lose power | Weather | News

Storm Bram will also bring very heavy rainfall; Accumulations of up to 100mm will be possible in areas already affected by heavy rainfall in Autumn and early Winter.

Charlotte Morgan Natural Resources Wales’ Duty Tactical Manager said: “We are asking people to be aware of possible flooding today (Monday) and overnight with heavy rain expected, particularly in parts of South Wales.

“With some rivers already swollen and the ground saturated, we expect a number of flood warnings and alerts to be issued.

“We urge people to be careful and prepare now for possible floods. You can check on our website whether you live in an area at risk of floods and sign up for our free flood warning service.

“We would also like to remind people to stay away from flooded riverbanks and not to drive or walk through floodwater as you don’t know what’s underneath.

“If flooding is expected in your area, we want to make sure people are doing what they can to keep themselves safe. Consider preparing a flood kit with important documents and medications, moving your car to higher ground, and moving valuables upstairs or to higher ground.”

“Check the flood warning pages on our website for local Flood Warnings and Flood Warnings for river or coastal flooding. These pages are updated every 15 minutes. Visit naturalresources.wales/flooding or call Floodline on 0345 988 1188.”
