UK warned of tornado risk as Britain is battered by 70mph winds | Weather | News

Met Office Yellow Air Warning is in force until 18.00 today, the wind is expected to cause travel deductions, power outages and dangerous coastal conditions up to Gusts 70Mph. The warning was initially enacted on Sunday evening and is expected to affect a lot on Monday. “Strong and Gusty winds will cause interruptions against forces,” Met Office said.

Now, predictions from Netweather, says there is a risk of hurricane.
Nick Finnis, a meteorologist from Netweather, wrote the following on the blog of his website: “As emphasized during the violent storm clock (STW), there is a risk of opening a flash with this squally rain and a low risk of hurricane in the south.”
Netweather’s STW also says: “Convection organization, probably some storm development, linear multicellular convective clusters, or even one or even one or two temporary super cell structures.
According to Met Office’s latest forecast, the rest of the week will remain restless and windy.
On Tuesday, most of the UK will see a mixture of ongoing sunlight and shower in some parts of Northern Ireland, Southern Scotland and Northern England. With lighter winds than the last days, it will feel a little warmer in some regions.
Met Office is expected to be a wet and blush day for many, with widespread rain and strong winds on Wednesday.
