Surgeon who had legs removed faces court accused of false sepsis claim | UK | News

Before removing their own legs, a vascular surgeon who performed hundreds of amputation operations appeared in court accused of fraud.

49 -year -old Neil Hopper was accused of encouraging someone else to remove the body parts of others.
Hopper from Truro in Cornwall appeared on Wednesday, accused of a violation of a crime, that is, the commission of the Cornwall Magistrate Criminal Court in Bodmin, for two fraud and only a violation of the commission.

A Hospital Foundation spokesman added: “The accusations were not about Mr. Hopper’s professional behavior and there was no evidence to propose any risk for patients. Mr. Hopper worked at the royal Cornwall hospitals from 2013 until his first arrest was dismissed in March 2023.
