Body of missing CPS teacher Linda Brown pulled from Lake Michigan: ‘Absolutely heartbroken’

The body of a Chicago Public Schools teacher who went missing a week ago was pulled from Lake Michigan Monday morning, authorities said.
The Chicago Police Department said marine units recovered a woman’s body from the water in the 3100 block of South Lake Shore Drive on the city’s South Side just before noon.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as 53-year-old Robert Healy Elementary special education teacher Linda Brown.
This came after Brown’s family spent days searching for him.
Those who knew Brown described her as a loving woman and wife. His family said in a text message that they were “absolutely heartbroken.”
Brown was seen Saturday, Jan. 3, in the 4500 block of South King Drive in the Bronzeville neighborhood, not far from where he lived, police said.
Investigators later found his car near 35th Street and Lake Park Boulevard.

Brown was captured on surveillance video in the 3500 block of South Lake Park Boulevard, police said Friday afternoon.
On Monday, police said they were conducting a death investigation pending autopsy results.
It was not immediately clear how Brown ended up in the water.
The cause of death was not immediately known.
