Highway 78 closed in both directions after deadly head-on crash
JULIAN, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Two people died and two others were transported to the hospital by helicopter after a two-vehicle crash near State Route 78 Saturday afternoon, according to CalFire.

CalFire received the call about a head-on collision involving two nearby cars around 2:52 p.m. Mastros Trailer Park Road In Julian.
When crews arrived on scene, two people had to be extricated from the vehicles, according to CalFire. CalFire confirmed around 4:20 p.m. that two of the victims died from their injuries, while the other two were taken to the hospital by helicopter.
SR-78 is closed in both directions between Banner Road and San Felipe Road Due to fatal collision.
