More than 10,000 properties have been added to the flood maps of Brisbane, and insurance companies warned not leeching with higher premiums.
Part of the changes in flooding for more than 17,000 properties in Brisbane and Albion, Windsor, Wilston, Ashgrove, Newmarket, The Gap, Insitead, Enoggera, Bowen Hills, Herston, Kelvin Grove, Bowen Hills, Red Hill, Bardon and Fortitude valley.

The mapping update will affect the property of 17.246, 400 properties have been removed, 10.129 property has been added, and many other people are changing, which will increase the flood risk category.
Updates are not valid for streams and waterway floods, not the Brisbane River or Highway Flow Floods.
Letters will be sent to all affected property owners in September.
The Council said in a statement that the risk of flood risks for many properties could be as low as the 2000 -year event.
“It is important that insurance companies do not earn this change and cash and increase insurance premiums unjustly,” the Council said in a statement.
