PM Modi to meet U.K. PM Starmer in Mumbai, to inaugurate infrastructure projects

During his two-day visit to Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Mumbai on Thursday, October 9, 2025, and will open several projects including Navi Mumbai Airport and Mumbai Metro-3 on 8 October 2025.
Mr. Modi will host the United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Mumbai and attend the CEO forum in Jio World Center in Mumbai. Both leaders will then participate in the sixth edition of Global Fintech Fest.
According to the statement made by the Prime Ministry Office (PMO), “two prime ministers, trade and investment, technology and innovation, defense and security, climate and energy, health, health, education and inter-people relations such as focused programs and initiatives such as ‘vision 2035’, which is a 10-year-old road map,” Vision, will evaluate the progress in various aspects of the Strategic partnership. “
Leaders are expected to communicate with businesses and sector leaders on the opportunities offered by the Indian-United Kingdom Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) as the basic pillar of the future India-united kingdom economic partnership.
Approximately 7,500 companies, 800 speakers (sector leaders), 400 participants, 400 participants and 70 regulators representing both India and international authority will participate in the Global Fintech Fest 2025. The main theme of the conference is ‘strengthening finance for a better world’ – strengthened with artificial intelligence, augmented intelligence, innovation and participation, and emphasizes the convergence of technology and human insight in shaping an ethical and sustainable financial future. The Congress is also looking forward to attracting the attention of more than 100,000 participants from more than 75 countries.
Opening of Navi Mumbai Airport and other projects
Prime Minister Modi is preparing to open the 1st stage of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), which was built with a cost of about 19,650 crore, the first entirely underground Mumbai Metro Line-3, the stage 2B, the Mumbai One App Mobility application and the short-term employment program of the Ministry of Skill.
The program includes a detailed review of the newly built Navi Mumbai International Airport and the launch of several other projects in Mumbai. According to the PMO, NMIA is the largest Greenfield Airport project of India, which is spread over 1160 ha with 90 million passengers per year and 3.25 million metric tons of cargo cargo, and offers automatic human carrier (APM), a transition system, which is planned to connect all four passenger terminals between terminals.
Acharya is part of the Mumbai Metro Line-3, which extends from Atre Chowk to CUFFE PARADE, from CUFFE PARADE 33.5 KM LENGTH FROM CUFFE PARADE TO 13.5 KM LENGTH AND 27 STATIONS. The total cost of the project is above ₹ 37.270 Crore.
