Police Body Condemns KTR’s Remarks On DGP, Demands Apology

HYDERABAD: Telangana State Police Officers Association on Wednesday condemned inappropriate and vulgar comments made by BRS working president KT Rama Rao against Director General of Police (DGP) B. Shivadhar Reddy.

In his statement, association president Y. Gopi Reddy said that Rama Rao gave an interview to a news channel. During his speech, the BRS MLA made objectionable comments about the DGP and insulted the senior IPS officer and the DG rank officer.

Gopi Reddy said, “Telangana Police is working with unprecedented sensitivity. We give priority to the law and the public. The police department works impartially. We give utmost priority to maintaining peace and security. In all the cases they mentioned, the police registered the cases in accordance with the law. In cases of robbery and murder, we caught the accused very quickly. There is nothing objectionable in the police functioning. If you have to question, we remind you to question in a polite and courteous manner.”

The association demanded that Rama Rao immediately retract and apologize for his objectionable statements against the DGP for politically motivated incidents.
