Speaking at their engagement meeting at their home, Nottingham Cottage, in 2017, the Sussexes described Meghan’s first moments with her future father-in-law.

He said: “William was very keen to meet her, and so was Catherine. So, you know, as neighbors we were able to do that a few times – I mean many times now, and Catherine certainly…”

Meghan then finished her sentence with a moving three-word description: “It was amazing.”

Prince Harry later continued: “Incredible support, you know, as did William.”

Although Meghan was full of praise for Kate at the time, she later insinuated that the couple had treated her coldly in the Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, which aired in 2022.

She said on the programme: “Even when Will and Kate came and I met him for the first time, they came to dinner, I remember wearing ripped jeans and being barefoot. It was like I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger. “I didn’t realize it was really shocking for a lot of Brits.

It is thought that the sisters-in-law no longer speak to each other, and Prince Harry and Prince William live separate lives.
