SC Gives HCs Eight Weeks To File Toilet Facility Compliance reports

NEW DELHI: After the decision to provide toilet facilities in all courts and courts of 20 Supreme Courts, it did not provide compliance reports on Wednesday and gave them eight weeks on Wednesday.
JB Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan justice of justice said: “Many Supreme Courts have not yet submitted their declarations/compliance reports. We give them a last opportunity to file their status reports within eight weeks.
On January 15, the APEX Court decided that access to appropriate sanitation was a fundamental right in accordance with Article 21 of the Constitution. He directed all high courts, state governments and union regions, men, women, disabled people and each court and court to provide separate toilet facilities to provide separate toilet facilities. The court also required a situation report within four months.
On Wednesday, the Council observed that only Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Calcutta, Delhi and Patna’s high courts have submitted declarations that detailed the steps taken to implement the judiciary. There are 25 Supreme Courts in the country.
In the January decision, the Supreme Court instructed each Supreme Court to create a committee chaired by a judge nominated by the Chief Justice, including the Secretary of Secretary, PWD Secretary, Finance Secretary, Bar Association representative and other officials deemed necessary. This committee should create a comprehensive plan, to participate in the average daily court, and to provide sufficient, clearly defined and accessible toilets for judges, defenders, plaintiffs and court personnel.
The court also enabled the state governments and trade union regions to allocate sufficient funds for the construction, maintenance and cleaning of these facilities and periodically reviewed with the Supreme Court committees.
