Perez Hilton discussed the harsh reality of modern cancel culture in the latest episode of OutKick’s “Tomi Lahren Is Fearless,” a dramatic crossover of media personalities.
The two found common ground in criticizing digital mobs that they said were more interested in destruction than accountability.

Lahren opened the discussion by comparing today’s climate to the past, noting that traditional public relations cleansing has been replaced by a mass mob willing to end lives over small mistakes.
“Cancel culture today, and especially from a few years ago, is brutal,” Lahren said. “There are people in entertainment that we still don’t have because they made one little mistake and there was a mass swarm of people on the internet who canceled them, ended their lives, made sure they were bankrupt.”

Lahren emphasized that her stance is valid even for her critics. “Personally, I don’t like it,” he said. “Even people I don’t like, I don’t believe in cancel culture as long as you don’t resort to violence. It’s a very different environment now.”
Hilton, who became a household name for her brand of celebrity calls in the mid-2000s, acknowledged that the landscape has fundamentally changed.
“I don’t believe in cancel culture either,” Hilton said. “Nick Cannon says, don’t cancel culture, recommend culture. I like to look at it that way. But if we assume people are sincere.”

Hilton argued that most cancellations today are not about social justice but are instead a form of entertainment for the masses.
“I’ve noticed over the last five to 10 years that canceling someone has really become kind of a pastime and a sport,” Hilton said. “People aren’t trying to hold others accountable for the right reasons. They’re just doing it to get on their nerves.”

Hilton noted that mid-level figures can be wiped out with a single argument, but the industry’s elite often remain untouched.
“I also have a rule, which is that unfortunately the cancel culture still exists,” Hilton said. “But if you’re an A-lister, you’re cancel proof.”
