Yadgir district Deputy Commissioner Rahul Pandve directed various government departments to seek approval from the relevant city and town municipalities before digging roads for any work, including laying of pipelines.

He was chairing a coordination meeting at Yadgir on June 29 to review the development works carried out by the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation, Public Works Department, GESCOM, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Corporation, Nirmiti Kendra and Kalyan Karnataka Regional Development Board under TMC and CMC limits.

He said that agencies must obtain approval from local authorities for road digging when implementing any project, and that restoration work must be carried out in accordance with the procedure after the proposed work is completed.

He instructed DC, TMC, CMC, GESCOM and forest officials to visit the points where drinking water project – AMRUT 2.0 – will be implemented by the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWS&DB) under the limits of all urban local bodies and extend necessary cooperation.

As the rainy season begins, Mr. Pandve told the officers to prepare a draft expenditure report for drinking water-related works containing details of various accounts 3F (AMRUT-2.0, Nagarothana Phase-04 and SFC drinking water) and complete information on rivers, wells, canals, overhead tanks and water supply projects falling under the jurisdiction of the respective urban local bodies and submit it immediately.
