Tamil Nadu minister urges Centre to allow Airbus aircraft on domestic routes

In a letter to the Union Civil Aviation Minister Kamamohan Naidu, passengers traveling to destinations such as Subramanian, Madurai and Coimbatore were usually forced to stop in service buses due to insufficient seating. Buses operated by airlines, passengers to planes parked in bays along the 1,301 acres of airport.
“Since these service services are less seats, elderly citizens and children are facing difficulties standing as long as the plane is parked too far.” He said.
Subramanian claimed that the airlines preferred to use these distant bays, because parking fees are relatively lower than those with closer to terminal.
Many passengers have traveled to Madurai, Tuticorin, Coimbatore and Tiruchirappalli, suggesting to distribute the Airbus aircraft carrying more passengers than the ATR planes currently used on domestic routes.
Airbus and Leonardo, a joint venture, ATR (Avions de Transport region) produces aircraft with up to 78 seating capacity in India.
