Teen boy stabbed in head on King St, Newtown

A teenage boy was stabbed in the head on a busy street in Sydney’s inner west and the ordeal was captured on terrifying security cameras.

Police said a 17-year-old teenager was attacked in King Street, Newtown, at around 12.30pm on Saturday by a group of men who fled the scene.

The terrifying incident was recorded on CCTV and shows the moment the teenager was attacked by a group of people.

In video obtained by 7News, the teen appears to be kicked, punched and stabbed by multiple people as he tries to defend himself.

The group fled the scene as the injured teenager stumbled on the street.

In the video, it can be seen that his friends rushed to his aid, and one of them tried to apply pressure and slow down the bleeding using a T-shirt.

The 17-year-old young man, who had multiple stab wounds on his head and back, was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. His condition was stable.

He will undergo surgery due to ligament and tendon damage.

While a crime scene investigation team was formed, the police launched an investigation into the incident.

An 18-year-old man is assisting police with investigations.
