Teen faces adult time over an e-bike crash that killed an 8yo boy on the Sunshine Coast

A teenager faces 14 years in prison if convicted of causing a fatal e-bike crash that killed an eight-year-old boy on the Sunshine Coast.
Two juveniles collided on a bike path near the intersection of Kawana Road and the Sunshine Highway in Mountain Creek on Oct. 30 at about 3:36 p.m.
Paramedics took eight-year-old Zeke Hondow to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, but he died from his injuries that evening.

Child Protection and Investigation Branch Directorate teams arrested a 15-year-old Buderim boy on Tuesday and charged him with dangerous driving causing death, driving without a license, driving without a license and driving without insurance.
The Courier Mail reports the teenager faces more than a decade in prison after dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death was made illegal under the Queensland government’s Adult Crimes, Adult Time legislation.
He will appear at Maroochydore Children’s Court on November 26.
