Teen mum ‘crushed to death against lampost by truck driven by angry lover’ | UK | News

A young mother was crushed to death after her jealous 41-year-old Asian boyfriend crashed his truck into her after she had a baby with another man, a jury has heard. Allegedly, 19-year-old Lily Whitehouse leaned against a lamppost while Mohammed Azim “used his truck as a weapon” to kill her. Lily, who is just 5ft 1in tall and weighs less than 7 stone, was seriously injured when rescue driver Mohammed Azim, 41, deliberately plowed into Lily in his Mercedes Sprinter truck following an argument, jurors heard.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard moments earlier the woman got out of the van and ran along the road, with the man following her in the vehicle before crashing into her. Azim then picked up his body, put it in the truck and drove around the corner before calling emergency services. Azim could be heard screaming and shouting in a 999 call to the jury; but he refused to start CPR, telling the call handlers, “he’s dead, bro.”
Mrs Whitehouse, who gave birth to a daughter in September 2025, died on the pavement in Oldbury, West Midlands, on November 5 last year.
Prosecutor Rachel Brand KC said the prosecution believed Lily had been “crushed by a lamppost”.
Azim, who denied the murder, claimed in a 999 phone call that his girlfriend was hit by a vehicle and ran away.
Ms Brand said he “lied about what happened in a matter of minutes”.
He added that it could be argued during the trial that Lily fell and Azim accidentally crushed her; but the evidence instead showed that the injuries were “consistent with him standing upright at the time.”
Jurors were told Azim had previously picked up Lily from the hospital where she was visiting her newborn baby and taken her home, but had passed by her home.
The couple was caught on security cameras arguing on the street. Lily was then seen walking quickly along the road as the truck followed her, which Ms Brand said showed the defendant was “clearly using that big, heavy vehicle as a weapon”.
Ms Brand added that as the lorry moved out of view, a ‘massive explosion’ was heard on CCTV and it was said to have crashed into a lamppost.
The court heard Azim and Ms Whitehouse had been in an on-and-off relationship since 2023.
She became pregnant from another man at a time when she and Azim were not together but their relationship started again.
On the day she died, she had gone to visit her baby in the neonatal ward of a hospital in Dudley.
Azim, who was helped by a Mirpuri translator at the dock but spoke “fairly good” English, was said to be “agitated” when the police and paramedics arrived. He was arrested on suspicion of murder, and during police interrogation he said nothing about how his young girlfriend had been injured.
The hearing, which is expected to last two weeks, continues.
