Teenage boys charged after youth seen with machete in city centre

Alan SimpsonTwo teenage boys have been charged following reports of people carrying bladed weapons in Edinburgh city centre.
Specialist firearms officers were called to Rose Street, at the junction with Hanover Street, on Friday afternoon.
Footage from the scene shows a young man carrying what appears to be a large machete, a short distance away from other pedestrians. No one was injured in the incident.
The 17-year-old, who was later arrested, will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
Police Scotland also said a 15-year-old boy had been reported to youth justice authorities.
A force spokesman added that investigations into the incident were ongoing.
