Abhishek Bachchan praises Agastya Nanda’s preparation for Ikkis

Abhishek Bachchan wrote a note on his X (formerly Twitter) account, praising his nephew Agastya Nanda for his work in the upcoming film Ikkis, calling it a “great honor and responsibility”. Nanda portrays the role of Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was martyred at the age of 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pak war in Ikkis. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra award for his bravery.

Production company Maddock Films shared a video on its official X account on Tuesday, showing short clips from the shooting and Nanda’s preparation for the role. “Some lives don’t last, they grow. On the anniversary of his death, we honor the unique courage and sacrifice of Warrant Officer Arun Khetarpal as a legacy that continues to live on,” the post said.

The Bob Biswas actor reposted the video and called Nanda’s sincerity and commitment to his role “commendable”. “Agastya, it is a great honor and responsibility!! A great hero of our nation. I am sure you have given him the respect, valor and dignity he truly deserves. You are an extremely sincere actor and your dedication to portraying Arun ji is very commendable. May God and the audience protect you. #KeepFightingTheGoodFigh,” wrote Abhishek.

Ikkis, which also stars Akshay Kumar’s niece Simar Bhatia in her acting debut and Jaideep Ahlawat, whose last film featured Dharmendra, is directed by Sriram Raghavan. The war drama will collide with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday starrer Sameer Vidwans’ romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri at the box office on December 25, coinciding with Christmas.
