Telangana, Andaman Leaders Highlight TD Legacy at Mahanadu

Vijayawada:Leaders from Telangana and Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Wednesday used Telugu Desam’s Mahanadu platform to highlight the party’s historical role in governance reforms, social justice and welfare initiatives, while expressing confidence in its revival and expansion.
Speaking at the Mahanadu held at the TD head office in Mangalagiri, Telangana politburo member Bakkani Narasimhulu said regional divisions created by “self-interested forces” were affecting the lives of working people. He said real freedom for Telangana came after TD founder NT Rama Rao abolished the Patel-Patwari system and called for strengthening the party in the state.
Praising Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Narasimhulu described him as one of the best chief ministers of the country and credited him with bringing welfare programs and public services to the grassroots. He also praised the “Chaduvula Panduga” initiative to improve access to education. Referring to Nara Lokesh, he said the young leader has continued the party’s legacy through welfare programmes.
Telangana leader Arvind Kumar Goud said the party has a strong emotional and political bond with Telangana. He said the social and political transformation of the weaker sections after the formation of TD in the undivided state reflected its influence.
He reminded that the abolition of the Patel-Patwari system during NTR’s tenure brought dignity and opportunities to the backward communities. Goud also said that the party enables people from humble backgrounds to reach ministerial positions. He added that Telangana’s economic foundation was shaped during the TD rule and expressed confidence in the party’s revival in the state.
Meanwhile, Andaman and Nicobar Islands TD chief Manikyam Yadav described Mahanadu as the “yellow festival” created by NTR for party cadres. He urged Naidu to visit the islands and asked for improved air and ship connectivity to facilitate travel and medical access for residents and also called for strengthening the party in the region.
