Telangana BJP Chief Ramchander Rao Slams Congress and BRS

Hyderabad: State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Sunday reiterated that his party will not enter into any alliance with BRS “under any circumstances” and said it was a clear decision. He claimed that the political mood in Telangana is gradually shifting towards the BJP.

Addressing the media after welcoming a large number of BRS leaders, including corporators and grassroots figures from Chevella Parliamentary constituency, to the BJP, Rao said the people had already witnessed the “misgovernance” of the BRS and the Congress. He argued that voters were determined to teach both parties a lesson.

Rao criticized the Congress for its political stance, stating that people remembered that the party “handed over the political space in Hyderabad to the All India Majlis-Ittehadul Muslimeen through GHMC delimitation”.

Rao also condemned comments made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others and accused them of spreading fake news and panic about the ongoing war between the US and Iran. He declared that India’s fuel security remains strong and stable.

Drawing attention to energy diversification during the Prime Minister Narendra Modi period, Rao stated that India imported crude oil from approximately 16 countries before 2014, and today it imports crude oil from approximately 47 countries. He pointed out that crude oil imports increased by 6.9% annually to 20.20 million tons in December 2025, which is a reflection of flexible supply chains. He said strategic reserves, diversified suppliers and pre-negotiated contracts ensure energy security despite global uncertainties.
“Though international crude oil prices have risen sharply, there has been no domestic fuel price crisis in India due to the foresight and planning of the Narendra Modi government,” Rao said, assuring the public that there will be no shortage of petrol, diesel, gas or crude oil.

He accused the Congress of spreading false propaganda and claimed that it misled people into filling gas cylinders and stocking up on fuel. “These allegations are completely false,” Rao said, urging the Congress to fulfill promises made to the people of Telangana and Karnataka, including providing gas cylinders at $500, before making similar commitments in Kerala.
