Telangana CM Revanth meets Governor, seeking clearance of Kodandaram and Azharuddin’s nomination as MLCs

In a renewed attempt to break the long-standing impasse over Legislative Council nominations, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan on Sunday, April 19, 2026, and called for speedy approval of pending nominations under the Governor’s quota.

The names of Prof M. Kodandaram and Mohammad Azharuddin, which were earlier approved by the State Cabinet, are currently pending in Lok Bhavan since the last Governor Jishnu Dev Varma was transferred to Maharashtra.
