Telangana Housing Board has invited entries from people proposing the title of the scheme under which one lakh houses will be constructed in the Core Urban Area (CURE) for people from Low Income Groups (LIG).
A prize of 1 lakh was announced for the winner. Title suggestions can be submitted as a comment/reply to a post via the Board’s Instagram username ‘tghd.official’. The last date for entries is June 28, 2026, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Gautham said in a statement on Tuesday. The competition is organized to make people a part of the project.
More than 600 responses were received within six hours of the contest being announced on the social media platform, with people submitting their posts in response to the post. Some people posted their phone numbers along with the suggestion.
The State Cabinet had earlier announced that LIG houses would be constructed in 24 Assembly constituencies in CURE. Lands for construction were examined in some pockets. Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy last week directed officials to identify government lands and dilapidated housing societies where the project could be undertaken.
Applications for the houses came from citizens. According to the press note, beneficiaries will be selected through a lottery system. Details regarding this will be announced soon, Mr. Gautham said.
