Telangana Launches State-Wide Crackdown On Fertility Clinics After Fraud
Haydarabad: Following the fraud of the last fertility clinic containing Namratha, which has been detained since then, the health department launched a comprehensive examination driving in all supported reproductive technology (Art) clinics. The State Government directed the health department to establish a three -member committee, headed by the Health Commissioner Sangeetha Satyanarayana and General Manager Rajiv Aarogaysri Health Safety Trust and Medical Education Director.
The Committee shall supervise the execution of comprehensive inspections of all special IVF clinics and fertility centers operating in the state to comply with legal, clinical and ethical standards.
Approximately 35 special audit teams have been created to carry out these audits. On Saturday, teams were able to control more than 65 private centers. The clinics remaining in other regions will be discussed in the following stages.
There are 381 art clinics operating in the state with 157 of Hyderabad and GHMC.
The Committee is directed to examine these centers strictly and to examine their functioning and violations of art and carrier actions; To determine whether the appropriate registration, patient permission, gamet supply and procedure documents are maintained according to legal requirements; Analyzing data on previous complaints against incorrect clinics, Fir’s and past department actions; Determine the number and status of affected victims, including oocyte/sperm donors, proxies and recipient couples; Question any potential role or inactivity in providing violations of public officials or regulatory authorities such as the Council of Medicine and the adequacy of existing regulatory frameworks and monitoring mechanisms to prevent the recurrence of such events.
The committee will prepare a detailed report and will be delivered to the state government within 10 days. It may also call on any official or specialist to provide information or evidence to the investigation.
