Telangana Statehood Day Celebrated at J&K Lok Bhavan

Srinagar: Telangana Statehood Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Jammu and Kashmir Lok Bhavan on Tuesday.
Addressing the meeting, Sinha emphasized that there is a remarkable spiritual and cultural connection between the two regions and stated that both J&K and Telangana are revered as the holy lands of Lord Shiva. “This common spiritual heritage,” he observed, “serves as a unifying bond that unites the diverse cultural fabric of the nation.”
In his speech, the Lt Governor paid rich tributes to the vibrant literary heritage of Telangana and underlined its profound contribution to Hindi literature and social awakening. He touched upon the enduring impact of literati in the region, stating that Telangana’s literary journey, from the 11th century compositions of Malliya Rechanna to the evocative works of modern poets like Atreya and Dasarathi Krishnamacharyulu, has played a pivotal role in shaping intellectual thought and inspiring social transformation. He noted that these literary figures not only enriched the cultural landscape but also advocated social reform and consciousness through their writings.
Sinha also took the opportunity to honor the valiant freedom fighters and tribal leaders of Telangana, including Ramji Gond, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. He reminded them of their courage and sacrifice and emphasized their important role in the struggle for justice and freedom. He also appreciated the immense contributions of the people of Telangana in various fields – farmers, soldiers, scientists, entrepreneurs, poets and artists – all of whom played a pivotal role in nation building and progress.
Concluding his speech, the Lt Governor urged citizens to draw strength from India’s rich diversity and common cultural heritage. He called on all to celebrate unity in diversity and strive collectively towards a future marked by prosperity, harmony and inclusive growth.
