Timeline: How the Sycamore Gap tree felling that shocked the nation unfolded as culprits jailed
The two men who dropped the tree in Sycamore GAP were sentenced to four years and three months of imprisonment.
39 -year -old former friends Daniel Graham and 32 -year -old man Carruthers, in a floor in the landscape for more than 100 years in a very popular tree, which has been convicted of criminal damage.

11.55 -The CCTV camera in Brewed Inn captures the traveling vehicle headlights and then returns to the steel Rigg parking lot used by visitors for Sycamore GAP.
Thursday September 28, 2023
12.32 – A video showing the sound of a saw on Graham’s phone, then the sound of a tree falls.
12.34 – Prosecutors said the photo taken on Graham’s iPhone, showing the draft of the fallen tree.
12.58 – The CCTV camera in Twice Brewed Inn shows the vehicle headlights on the opposite way.
1.18 – Graham’s Range Rover was caught by the Anpr camera in Brampon, this time he takes the West back to Carlisle.
1.26 – Range Rover was caught on the Anpr camera. Three minutes later, Carruthers’ partner sends him the video of a child who feeds a bottle. “I have a better video than that.” Eight minutes later, Graham’s phone sends the video of the tree in which Carruthers fell into the phone.
1.28 – Graham’s phone is re -connected to the network.
02:00 – The photos taken on Graham’s mobile phone and two short videos show a piece of wood next to a saw in Range Rover’s boat.
9.46 – Police reports that the tree is damaged. The investigation begins.
10.20 – Carruthers sends Graham an image of Facebook comments, a stripe of an apartment says: “When we look at the quality of the cut and the size of the tree, I can say that who has information about how the big trees will fall.”

The trial starts at Newcastle Crown Court.
