‘Terrible beauty Scotland reverse the narrative on extraordinary day’

Wales? Brilliant but beaten, losers of the day, but with plenty to build on – and some to complain about, too. If Turner’s try was the decisive moment of the match, there was another moment that could have filled that gap in the 64th minute.
At the time Wales were leading 23-19. They went to the Scotland 22 and won a penalty. If he had been standing, they could have taken him back, but that wasn’t the case. TMO stepped in and called on Tomos Williams to make a crocodile roll on Rory Darge that did not look like a crocodile roll.
The penalty was taken back. The shot went 26-19. Turner arrived shortly after and that was it. Scotland have stepped back from the brink and will play France at home and Ireland away in the coming weeks.
It’s a terrific finale to their tournament, but at least they’re alive and have hope of achieving something concrete. Whatever happens against France, they will be playing for the Triple Crown in Dublin. They haven’t won since 1990.
What makes this tool create such creepy things? What is it about the Scotland kit that makes the Welsh believe in themselves?
They were amazing from the very beginning. Scotland pushed things and emerged. They tried to get out at every opportunity but were crushed. Even when Joe Hawkins was cleared five minutes later, Wales came on strong. Carre scored as the score went down to 14. Those awful Welsh starts in so many recent Test matches? Forget about it.
Scotland coughed up chances, then scored one goal, then conceded another. They had little composure and no control. Wales does not allow this. Sam Costelow made the score 17-5 after half an hour. There are red flags everywhere now.
Townsend didn’t hang around too long. After playing thirty-five minutes, he pulled in loudmouth Nathan McBeth and one of his locks, Max Williamson. Fortunes did not change immediately. Scotland’s laxity continued. So is Wales’ scoring; It’s now 20-5.
That’s where fatalism comes into play. Here we go again. Another Cardiff disaster. Jungle drums are playing. Townsend must go. Everyone must go.
Huw Jones, one of the most formidable attackers in the history of the Scotland team, dropped the ball near the try line. When people like Jones start messing things up, you start to fear the worst. You are increasing the number of deaths.
