Disgraced Hollywood movie producer Harvey Weinstein has revealed how he feels about Adrien Brody playing father to his and ex-wife Georgina Chapman’s two children.
Weinstein, 73, is currently locked up in New York’s Rikers Island, serving a 16-year sentence after being convicted on sex crime charges in California in 2022.
Chapman, 49, broke up with Weinstein in 2017 after 10 years of marriage, after allegations of sexual harassment and abuse against him were revealed in a bombshell report by the New York Times.
The former couple, whose divorce was finalized in 2021, have a common daughter India Pearl (15) and son Dashiell Max Robert (12).
Chapman began dating Oscar winner Brody, 52, in 2019, and the actor has taken on a fatherly role in the children’s lives while Weinstein remains behind bars.
Brody was shocked when he revealed in his Best Actor Oscar acceptance speech last year that India and Dashiell affectionately referred to him as ‘Popsy’.
And in a new interview, Weinstein insisted: Hollywood Reporter That she was ‘happy’ Brody took action for his children.

‘NO! I was happy. “It’s good to have someone in my kids’ lives,” Weinstein said when asked if he was bothered by Brody talking about his children on stage at the Oscars.
‘And Georgina suffered so much because of me. I’m glad you’ve finally found some happiness.’
She claimed that even though Chapman was no longer on good terms with Weinstein, the designer still allowed her to see his children.
Weinstein also spoke of Chapman and her luxury fashion brand Marchesa being ‘punished’ by Hollywood after allegations against her became public nearly a decade ago.
He said many A-list actresses, whom his ex-wife had “dressed beautifully” for years, subsequently stopped wearing his designs.
“I’m sorry it got such a bad reputation,” Weinstein said. ‘He didn’t know anything about what I was doing.
‘I was a master of deception. ‘Punishing your company is an act of madness.’
This isn’t the first time Weinstein has spoken out about Brody’s life with Chapman or the actor’s presence in his children’s lives.

Weinstein’s spokesperson Juda Engelmayer made an exclusive statement to the Daily Mail last year after Brody’s Oscar speech.
While Brody received the Best Actor award for his performance in the movie Brutalist at the 2025 ceremony, he especially thanked his girlfriend Chapman and his two children with Weinstein.
‘I share this with my amazing partner Georgina, who has reinvigorated not only my self-worth but also my sense of worth, my values and her beautiful children, Dash and India,’ she said.
Explaining the nickname Weinstein’s children gave her, she added: ‘It’s been a rollercoaster, but thank you for welcoming me into your life and Popsy is going home a winner.’
When approached for comment, Weinstein’s representative Engelmayer told the Daily Mail: ‘Harvey is happy for Georgina and grateful that his children are loved and cared for as they deserve.’
Weinstein, once one of Hollywood’s heavyweights, became a symbol of sexual abuse after allegations against him emerged in the press in 2017.
In total, nearly 60 women made harrowing allegations against the producer, who was convicted of various sexual crimes in both New York and California.
When asked if he was bothered by Brody’s Oscar speech, which is seen in 2025, Weinstein said, “It’s a good thing to have someone in my kids’ lives.”
Weinstein has denied raping or sexually assaulting anyone.
He is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence for his California rape conviction and is awaiting a third Manhattan trial later this year to resolve the remaining rape charge from a New York retrial in 2025.
Weinstein is currently battling a number of health issues, including cancer, diabetes, spinal stenosis and a possible immune system issue.

She and Brody first met at an event at the Dorado Beach Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico in April 2019; Brody allegedly joined after being encouraged by friends to “get out of the house” after self-isolating at home amid the Weinstein crisis.
The two hit it off and officially started dating a few months later.

They added that Chapman’s relationship with Brody was ‘much different’ than her ex-Weinstein. ‘She and Adrien feel more like partners.’
