Texas DoorDash driver gets hit by a car fleeing from police and still delivers the order

Texas DoorDash driver He didn’t let the pain of being hit by a car stop him from delivering an order. A less dedicated driver might have seen the cop heading towards them, jumped in his car, and canceled the order.
This hero delivery driver didn’t do that. It hit the hood of a car driven by a burglary suspect who refused to stop during an attempt to stop traffic.
Understandably left the order. But just for a moment.

As the suspect, identified by police as Torrance Whitaker, fled the car and ran toward it, the DoorDash driver grabbed the order, which slid off the hood and landed in front of the car on the street.
He then began completing the delivery as officers chased the man, who jumped fences and ran through yards in a Houston neighborhood.
Witness Lily Portillo, whose cameras captured the incident, said, “I was on the phone with my husband and I heard someone crash. Wait a minute, I heard a voice from the police. When he came out my door, I think it was HPD parked on my mulch like here!” he said. KTRK.

KTRK spoke with the DoorDash driver. Like a hero, he did not want to be identified. He is in a lot of pain but has avoided breaking any bones. He is also considering filing a lawsuit against the suspect’s insurance.
What a story of great dedication. This order was delivered if the delivery driver was physically able to do so.
There is little hesitation. He needs to recover a bit, then he gets back to work. A truly impressive work.
