Disney World cast member hurt stopping 180-kg fake boulder from hitting audience

A worker at Walt Disney World is “recovering” after being injured by a 400lb (180kg) rogue fake rock prop in an incident captured on video, a Florida theme park has confirmed.
The event took place at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! During a live reenactment of a famous scene from the movie.
In the video, the boulder can be seen rolling towards the audience after a staff member jumped into its path and prevented it from reaching the crowd.
“We are focused on supporting our actor as he recovers,” Disney said in a statement Wednesday. “Safety is at the heart of what we do and this element of the show will be changed as our security team completes their investigation into what happened.”
The scene from 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark shows Indiana Jones, played by Harrison Ford, leaving behind a giant booby-trapped boulder and jumping to safety.
Video of Tuesday’s incident shows the rock leaving the tracks, bouncing towards spectators and falling into the path of a staff member, before falling to the ground.
The staff member does not appear to stand up immediately, and other workers can be seen rushing to his side.
According to a blog operated by the park, the rock support weighs approximately 400 lbs and is made of rubber.
A spokesperson for Disney did not confirm that a rock was the cause of the incident, but told the BBC’s US partner CBS News that “a propeller went off track”.
a witness He told People magazine that the worker “saved” the spectator from injury. “It was a crazy experience and one we will definitely remember.”
In a video of the incident, a man behind the camera can be heard saying: “This guy literally saved our lives.”
