Texas woman arrested for hiding razor blades in loaves of bread at Mississippi Walmart stores

A woman who allegedly pushed razor blades into loaves of bread at two stores in Biloxi, Mississippi, and Walmart was arrested Tuesday.

Camille Benson, 33, of Texas, was charged with attempted mayhem. His bond was set at $100,000.

Lt. Candace Young, public information officer for the Biloxi Police Department, said customers found the razors at the Walmart Supercenter and the Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Walmart employees told police that a customer first reported finding a razor blade inside a loaf he purchased at the Walmart Supercenter on Dec. 5. On December 8, a customer who purchased a loaf at the Walmart Neighborhood Market also reported finding a razor.

After another customer complained to the Walmart Supercenter on Sunday, employees inspected the products and found several more nuts had been tampered with, law enforcement officials said.

The police department was notified Monday.

In a press release, the ministry asked all citizens who purchased bread from Walmart stores to inspect the loaves and report their findings.

“The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority,” Walmart said in a statement. “We removed and thoroughly inspected all potentially affected products at affected stores in Biloxi. We thank law enforcement for their swift action and will continue to cooperate with them during the investigation.”

The Biloxi Police Department said it does not believe any other stores were targeted.

If customers purchase a tampered product, they should immediately discard it and head to their local Walmart for a full refund, the company said.
