Meghan Markle mocked by fans for ‘catastrophically bad’ move | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has been mocked by fans online after an error appeared on her brand’s website showing the current stock of every item on sale. Fans took to social media this week to upload screenshots of stock numbers for As Ever products.

This glitch meant that when more items were added to the cart, the remaining items became available for sale. It’s unclear how long the now-resolved glitch has been going on or whether the stock numbers are accurate, but some fans even compared figures within a few hours of difference to see how many items were sold.

But due to the sheer number of products available, some people began to mock the Duchess, while others claimed it would take “years” to sell the shares.

They explained: “Currently, Meghan has around $23 million worth of items in stock, including 137,435 of her signature fruit delivery boxes. Last night’s figures revealed she moved 20 of them in around 12 hours.”

“If you double that number to 40 and divide it by the stock and then the number of days in a year, it looks like if the product moves at current rates it would take more than nine years to move the entire stock. That’s catastrophically bad. That’s catastrophically bad.”

“This is just a small snapshot, and while it’s not an overall indicator, it does seem to confirm what many people suspected.”

A second user said: “Ordered too much for me.”

A third joked: “Coming to a TJ Maxx near you soon.”

A fourth agreed: “I agree. The math here seems more instructive than precise but what a snapshot!!”

A fifth commented: “He was absolutely sure that all these products would sell like hotcakes. He mistakenly assumed her fame and popularity.”

However, others defended the Duchess and claimed that this was not the brand’s actual inventory.

One user wrote: “This is not real inventory. This is dropshipping, white label. The way production works for white label is to skip over an existing production run. On the website the admin puts a high off-world figure so they don’t have to worry about selling out online.”

The second was of a similar opinion: “That’s not the actual amount of stock he has. He just puts his label on white label products. He doesn’t need to have all that stuff.”

At the time of writing, the glitch appears to have been fixed.

When the Daily Express tried to add 500,000 pieces of As Ever’s Signature Fruit Spread Trio to the cart, the message read: “Quantity requested exceeds our available stock. Please adjust your order or contact support with bulk questions.”

When we tried to add the same quantity for the Honey Duo Gift box, the following message appeared: “The maximum quantity of this product is already in your cart.”

Neither the Duchess of Sussex nor her brand’s team have commented on the glitch.
