Thames Water confirms loss of water to 17 UK areas during heatwave – full list | UK | News

Problems were reported across southern England, including north-west and east London, while Thames Water acknowledged two separate incidents had affected the capital.
The difficulties arose as Londoners struggled to sleep in temperatures of 24 degrees overnight, ahead of an expected peak of 33 degrees on Thursday, July 8. The UK Health Safety Agency has issued a yellow health warning due to the heat, which will remain active until Monday morning (6am on 13 July).
The east London postcodes affected by the Thames Water outage are E1, E2, E3, E9 and E16. Thames Water’s notice said: “We are sorry if your tap water is not flowing at the moment. We are aware of an issue in the area affecting customers in the East London area.
“Our team of experts are heading to the site to investigate the cause of the outage and restore the flow of your water supply.”
“We know how devastating it would be to lose your water supply, so we will work hard to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.
“If you or someone you know needs a little extra support, our free Priority Services Register can help us understand your situation so we can take it into account to the best of our ability.
“We will provide a new update by 8:00 AM. Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.”
Thames Water also confirmed ‘low water pressure’ in the NW11 – North Circular area in north-west London. Thames Water’s statement includes the following: “We are sorry if your tap water is not flowing normally. Your water supply is being affected due to a burst water main in the area.
“Our teams are on site and working to isolate the leaking pipe. Once this is complete, we will begin work to carry out the repair. We will be on site throughout the night to ensure your supplies are back to normal as quickly as possible.
“We know how devastating it would be to lose your water supply, so we will work hard to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.
“If you or someone you know needs a little extra support, our free Priority Services Register can help us understand your situation so we can take it into account to the best of our ability.
“We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide a new update by 8 a.m. tomorrow morning. Thank you for your patience and support as we work to keep water flowing.”
