The 15 biggest royal moments coming up in 2026 | Royal | News

Prince George starts high school in September

One of the biggest moments of 2026 will be the big change in Prince George’s life as he moves from Lambrook School to high school. The 12-year-old prince, second in line to the throne, will move on to the next stage in his education. Although unconfirmed, it is believed that George will be a student at Eton College, just like his father, Prince William. While this could mean different classes, it could also mean a different home for George; because he may be a boarding student at the university, but may initially choose to be a day student. Other options for George could include Princess Catherine’s former school, the co-educational Marlborough College in Wiltshire; this will allow him to be joined one day by both of his younger siblings.

Queen Elizabeth II 100th anniversary of Elizabeth’s birth

The year 2026 will also be the year of Queen Elizabeth II. It will also be important as it is the 100th anniversary of Elizabeth’s birth. The late Queen was born at 2.40am on 21 April 1926 at 17 Bruton Street in Mayfair, London. This was the London home of his maternal grandparents, the Earl and Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne. When Elizabeth was born, she never expected to ascend to the throne, especially since her father had an older brother. Sadly, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at Balmoral in 2022. Elizabeth is no longer around to celebrate her 100th birthday.
