The 1975’s Matty Healy marries model Gabbriette Bechtel in Los Angeles
1975’s lead singer Matty Healy and model Gabriette Bechtel got married in Los Angeles.
After nine months of dating, the couple announced their engagement in 2024 and got married on Saturday.
A statement shared by the couple’s representatives stated that the couple married “in a private ceremony attended by their family and close friends in Los Angeles.”
According to multiple US media outlets, they got married at Madonna’s former estate in the Hollywood Hills and the ceremony was attended by celebrities such as Charli XCX.
Bechtel, 28, and Healy, 37, met for the first time months after breaking up with Taylor Swift, with whom he was together for a short time in 2023. Their relationship allegedly inspired some of the tracks on Swift’s acclaimed album The Tortured Poets Department.
In June 2024, Bechtel shared a photo of herself on Instagram wearing a large black diamond ring on her ring finger.
She wrote: “Marrying 1975 is such a brat.”
Healy’s mother, Loose Women star Denise Welch, later confirmed their engagement via a podcast.
Videos showing Healy performing during his bachelorette party with The 9075, a band paying homage to The 1975, were posted online after the event.
Bechtel also shared photos from her Las Vegas hen do, which showed the model being handcuffed and carried onto the plane by a man dressed as a police officer.
Other photos show him spreading fake $100 bills on the floor, posing with burlesque star Dita Von Teese and dancing with an Elvis impersonator.
The American model is also a musician known as the lead vocalist and songwriter of the punk rock band Nasty Cherry, founded by Charli XCX. Her husband, George Daniel, is the drummer for The 1975.
They are known for their songs 1975, Chocolate, Somebody Else and Girls and have had five number-one albums in the UK, including their self-titled debut album in 2013, Notes On A Conditional Form in 2020 and their latest album Being Funny In A Foreign Language, released in 2022.
They also headlined Glastonbury last year. The band has since taken an “indefinite break” from live shows.
