The British CPAC was a farcical (but still dangerous) ghost town

Despite everything, in a windowless conference room at an InterContinental hotel, I found myself almost feeling sorry for Liz Truss. Almost. Having been perhaps the most successful prime minister in British history, she is now plumbing new depths of embarrassment in her post-parliamentary career.

I was in Greenwich, East London, at the launch of CPAC Great Britain, the successor to the American right-wing political conference Truss. Compared to the conservative Alliance for Responsible Citizenship conference I covered recently Krikey, the main room was a third its size, and even then it was three-quarters empty.
