‘The ceasefire can flip like a coin’: Netanyahu warns of snap return to war after secret Vance call – as Trump’s blockade goes live

Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Monday that J.D. Vance called him immediately after talks with Iran collapsed after the Israeli prime minister warned that Donald Trump’s ceasefire could escalate into an all-out war.
The Israeli prime minister held a meeting with senior cabinet officials where he detailed how US negotiations with the Iranians in Pakistan had collapsed.
Netanyahu’s comments came just hours before Trump’s 10 a.m. ET naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz goes into effect.
‘I spoke with Vice President J.D. Vance yesterday. “Netanyahu called me from his plane on his way back from Islamabad,” he continued. ‘He gave me detailed information about the progress of the negotiations, as this administration does every day. In this case, there is an explosion in the negotiations.’
‘The explosion came from the American side, which could not tolerate Iran’s blatant violation of its agreement to enter into negotiations.’
Netanyahu said the collapse in talks was triggered after Tehran failed to reopen key access points on the vital oil transit route and refused to commit to ending nuclear enrichment.
Netanyahu warned that the two-week ceasefire brokered by Trump could be broken at any time and said: ‘A ceasefire is like a coin, it can turn upside down very quickly.’
Trump is reportedly considering a return to military strikes against Iran if the naval blockade does not push the regime back into negotiations, according to Axios. The blockade is part of Tehran’s broader strategy to deny its influence over the waterway and push for concessions.

Vice President JD Vance led peace talks over the weekend that failed to end the US-Iran war
Netanyahu said the collapse in talks was triggered after Tehran failed to reopen key access points on the vital oil transit route and refused to commit to ending nuclear enrichment.
At peace talks led by Vance over the weekend, US officials were seen pressuring the Iranian delegation to freeze all uranium enrichment and turn over its uranium stockpiles.
Another sticking point in the peace talks was how much frozen Iranian money the United States would agree to release in exchange for nuclear concessions.
Tehran was not satisfied with the proposed terms despite nearly 21 hours of negotiations with the Vice President.
In his speech to his government, Netanyahu emphasized that the USA and Israel remained in close cooperation throughout the negotiations.
‘Speaking as if there is a disconnect between us is the opposite. “Everyone who was there during this meeting and in our daily meetings with the President and his people, his staff can testify to this,” Netanyahu added.
‘This is coordination like never before; There is something that did not happen here. This has not happened in the history of the state, nor has it happened in the history of the Jewish people.’
The collapse comes as the United States embarks on a showdown with Iran as the regime’s naval speedboats attempt to push back Trump’s blockade.
Although Washington has dealt a heavy blow to Iran’s conventional navy in a series of attacks, destroying most of its fleet, Tehran can still threaten ships in the strait with small speedboats, mines and dubious underwater drones.

The power Tehran relies on to control the Strait of Hormuz is thought to remain largely intact, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Iran’s traditional navy, which operates larger warships and frigates, has long taken a more symbolic role, focusing on prestige and occasional long-range missions.
But the paramilitary IRGC maintains a separate fleet built to provide speed and flexibility to control the transition.
Its arsenal includes agile boats equipped with missiles, mines and drones, allowing it to threaten and disrupt commercial shipping in ways that are more difficult to counter.
