A Texas A&M official was “relieved of game day duty” Saturday after a conversation with South Carolina’s Nyck Harbor following a long field goal.
After catching and running for an 80-yard score, Harbor caught his right hamstring and continued walking into a tunnel at Kyle Field.
Several of his teammates joined him, and Harbor cautiously emerged from the tunnel.

However, after returning, an officer intervened and contacted Harbor, who rushed to Oscar Adaway III.
The officer then reprimanded Harbor, who turned back but continued walking toward the field.
The university police department announced that the officer at X was relieved of duty on game day and sent home.
NBA star LeBron James called for the officer to be suspended.
“That A&M cop needs to be suspended! This is premeditated and corny AF!! He went out of his way to start something. Do better, man.” He sent a message to X.
The touchdown gave the Gamecocks a 27-3 lead, which would grow to 30-3, but the third-seeded Aggies trailed all the way for a wild 31-30 win.

Texas A&M staged its biggest comeback ever, outscoring South Carolina 28-0 in the second half.
Marcel Reed threw for a career-high 439 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Aggies to 10-0 on the season.
It was the biggest comeback in school history, eclipsing the Johnny Manziel-led team’s 21-point rally to beat Duke 52-48 in the 2013 Chick-fil-A Bowl. Heading into Saturday, teams were 0-286 when trailing by 27 points or more in the Southeastern Conference since 2004.
After a terrible first half in which he was intercepted twice and returned for a score, Reed bounced back and put the Aggies in a 30-3 hole with a dazzling second half to keep Texas A&M on track for its first trip to the College Football Playoff.
The Aggies took the lead for the first time on a 4-yard run by EJ Smith with about 11 minutes left.
Texas A&M had a first down after that in the 1st, but Jamarion Morrow fumbled on a trick play and the Gamecocks rallied with about three minutes left in the game.
