Erin Patterson trial: Jurors expected to be sent out to deliberate verdict in mushroom murder case

Erin Patterson’s jury members at the trial trial hearing, the judge is preparing to be sent to negotiate his decisions on Monday after finishing the final statements.
On Friday, Justice Christopher Beale told the jury members that he expected to summarize the evidence, argument and legal principles until mid -day on Monday.
Later, the Victorians’ panel of 14 people, jury members to retire and start negotiations before the request to be reduced to 12 with a random vote, he said.
“I will complete the accusation before lunch on Monday, at this point we will make a ballot and you will continue to talk,” he said.
At the beginning of the hearing 10 weeks ago, the jury members were told that they would be listed during the negotiation periods.
50 -year -old Patterson is tried after his husband Simon Patterson is not guilty of killing three of his family members, and after he has killed the fourth.
Heather Wilkinson, Simon’s parents Don and Gail Patterson and Gail’s sister, died of multiple organ failure due to death Cap fungal poisoning at the beginning of August 2023.
The case was located around a lunch at his home in Leongatha southeast of Victoria on 29 July 2023, and served beef wellingtons containing the death hat mushrooms.


Prosecutors claim that Ms. Patterson is intentionally looking for and contains deadly mushrooms that want to kill four guests or at least seriously.
His defense argues that the case was a tragic accident, Ms. Patterson was ill and did not want to harm anyone.
The case is expected to continue in the town of Morwell at 10.30 on Monday.
