The Israeli town on the frontline with Hezbollah

On the border between Lebanon and Israel is Metula, Israel’s northernmost town.

Surrounded by Lebanon on three sides, Metula is one of the cities in the first line of fire when the Iran-backed political and military group Hezbollah fires rockets.

Israeli officials say that 12 soldiers and two civilians have been killed by Hezbollah’s rockets in the last six weeks of conflict.

Local officials say more than 2,000 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon since fighting resumed on March 2 following Hezbollah’s attack on Israel.
