The Largest Buc-ee’s Ever Is Opening Soon—And It’s Not In Texas
By now you’ve probably come across the oversize. market wonderland Texas-born Buc-ee’s. Part gas station, part deli, and part TJ Maxx, this remarkable travel stop is known for a few things it does Really and for the extensive selection of everything you can imagine. (For example, some of my favorite beaded holiday earrings are from Buc-ee’s.)
We often wax poetic about Buc-ee’s and theirs. tender breast meatsalty-sweet Beaver Nuggets, Dr Pepper Icees and spotless restrooms. But soon the Lone Star State will no longer have Buc-ee’s largest location.
As reported by Sebastian DailyIn 2027, Buc-ee plans to open the world’s largest grocery store (you read that right!) in a massive 76,245-square-foot space in Fort Pierce, Florida. For size comparison, this is about the size of 1.3 football fields.
The store in Fort Pierce, on Palm Beach’s Atlantic coast, will be built at I-95 and Indrio Road, serving drivers traveling on one of Florida’s busiest routes. The current Texas record holder is the 75,593-square-foot store in Luling. (Luling acquired the title from Buc-ee’s in Sevierville, Tennessee.) The new Florida location, if built as planned, will have 120 gas pumps, 18 electric vehicle charging stations and more than 700 parking spaces where people can get out and enjoy Buc-ee’s 76,000 feet of retail magic.
There are currently two Buc-ee’s In Florida, it will open in Daytona Beach and Saint Augustine, with another planned for Ocala in the next few years. As shared by Sebastian Daily, plans for Fort Pierce’s newest location are still in final approval and must be approved by utility providers. Once approved, construction of the new location could take approximately two years; The target is planned to be at the end of 2027 or the beginning of 2028.
Still, the prospect of economic support for the region has Southerners excited about the possibility of the bronze beaver coming to town. If similar to other recent Buc-ee’s openings, the new store could provide more than 175 jobs for area residents.
