The left is using the Smithsonian to erase America’s founding principles

Contrary to what some on the right may believe, we are not winning the war against DEI placements and promotions, and we are not winning the war against the larger “Woke” ideology. Both have been put into a false hibernation by the long game of the far left.
In fact, the game may not last that long. Many on the left plan to double or triple down on the “Woke” game plan if Democrats take back some or all of Congress in November and the White House in 2028.
If you need a very recent reminder of how insidious and embedded DEI designations combined with “Woke” theology can be, I recommend watching the smug and condescending statement made by National Museum of American History Director Anthea Hartig in response to a series of logical and pragmatic questions posed to her by Texas Congressman Brandon Gill. While Gill was giving a masterclass in meritocracy and exposing the nation-destroying “wokism,” I can assure you that Hartig, seemingly smug and arrogant, was mentally tapping his fingers and thinking, “We will wait for you and the Trump administration and then reinstate “Woke” and DEI across the spectrum of government and private sector.”

One of the most dangerous programs Congressman Gill exposed was something called the “MASS Action Toolkit.” MASS stands for “Museums as Places of Social Action.” The far-left, anti-Trump propaganda narrative created by museum professionals around 2017 to transform workplaces into centers of woke activism and “resistance.” Smithsonian staff heavily supported this as part of their DEI initiative.
The obvious question then is how best to fight a war we are losing. First of all, let’s admit that we lost. Then look at what the left’s strategy is. They are playing the ‘wait for you’ game. Then select the high-profile battlefields that have been overturned to your left and decisively reclaim that terrain.
And with this strategy in mind, I can’t think of a better place than the Smithsonian. The left has deeply infiltrated the great museum of the American people. Step by step, every year, they turned it into a poisonous cauldron for “Social Justice”.

President Trump has the power to reverse this. While he can’t directly appoint someone to head the Smithsonian, he can put sustained pressure on the 17-member Board of Trustees to make it happen.
And it needs to do this as quickly as humanly possible.
The Smithsonian Institution is the face of “America” to millions in our country and billions around the world. While it hosts more than 20 million visitors a year, it also provides “education” to more than 20 million students a year. This is one of our nation’s most important megaphones, and no one understands this better than the socialist and Marxist subversives who have infiltrated every building and corridor of the institution.

They view the Smithsonian Institution as one of the greatest tools at their disposal to indoctrinate American citizens and visitors around the world against the values and traditions first articulated by our Founding Fathers and later outlined in our founding documents. I say this as the author of a book titled “56 – Lessons in Freedom from Those Who Risked Everything to Sign the Declaration of Independence.” A book that clearly aims to protect our Founding Fathers from the smears and cancellations of the left.

But I also say this as someone who believes that we are losing the fight to preserve the names and reputations of men like Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams, as we did in the fight against Wokism and DEI. Just as we have lost the fight to prevent the far left from erasing and then “reinventing” our shared American history.
The Smithsonian Institution is “Ground Zero” for the vilification of our nation and those who believe strongly in its exceptionalism. That’s why I believe we need a high-profile “America First” figure to take over this institution and declare: “The annulment of our Founding Fathers and the reinvention of our American history ends today.”

President Trump must find a new leader for the “Attic of the Nation.” Someone who appreciates the courage, sacrifice, and genius of our Founding Fathers and believes deeply in our exceptionalism.
An American Patriot who will step into the Smithsonian Institution and on the first day begin to dispose of the far left garbage that fills every corner of these buildings. It should be done as if our future depends on it. Because it is.
