The mystery of Mrs Mac’s daffodil cross at Sponars Chalet | The Canberra Times

If you go: The cross has no formal walkway and is best viewed from a distance, such as from the driveway of Sponars Chalet. But if you’re feeling adventurous and want to walk there, park in the small parking lot just below Sponars Chalet in Diggers Creek. Walk upstream along the east side of the creek for about 150 meters (crossing Little Diggers Creek on the way) and the cross will loom large on your left. Note that although this hike is short, it is not without its challenges. First of all, when walking on Kosciuszko Road, beware of speeding vehicles that ignore Ms. Mac’s warning. Second, wear trousers or leggings. The day I visited, at least one Highland Copperhead also wanted to pay his respects at the cross
