The one condition the King would have before meeting Archie and Lilibet | Royal | News

King Charles is reportedly keen to forge a stronger bond with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, but will only meet them on one condition. The 77-year-old man is known to be a doting grandfather to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, and is said to want the same relationship with his two youngest grandchildren.

Seven-year-old Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who turns five next week, have spent little time with their royal relatives; specifically living in California with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex is said to be keen to bring his children to England this year; The Balmoral estate in Scotland stands out as the likely place where the King could spend quality time with Archie and Lilibet.

Royal writer Ingrid Seward spoke of the possible visit, which would probably only take place if the Sussex family’s safety was confirmed. Mirror: “Balmoral is the only place where they can meet to meet, or at least see, the king’s grandchildren.

“It’s the only time the King has time, and it’s the only time the Sussexes can lodge there, for there are many cottages on the Manor.”

But the author insisted the King would allow the meeting to take place if Harry and Meghan agreed to certain rules.

He added: “Harry and Meghan don’t have to stay at the castle, although of course they would expect that but that’s fine. Obviously they would make sure William and Kate aren’t there at the same time.”

“[Charles] He has a dedicated secretary and other staff to take care of all the details. They would button them up as much as you could button them up.”

Prince Archie was born in England in May 2019 and celebrated his seventh birthday earlier this month.

He is thought to have spent time with his royal relatives before moving to the US with his family in 2020. However, Lilibet was born in June 2021 after her family moved to California.

Both children traveled to the UK to celebrate the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, and it was during this visit that Lilibet is thought to have first met the King.
