Here is a close-up of the “mass migration”: A 74-year-old Pakistani couple (my mother and father) apply for a short visit to see their grandchildren. They had the same tourist visa over and over again. They always respected the limitations and left on time. But this time, the Home Office official writes that applicants must demonstrate “strong financial and/or personal ties” and that after considering the paperwork, he was “not satisfied that the applicant actually intends to stay on a temporary basis.” Same applicants, same evidence, different results.
